Hi Fariba, Yes, you’d need more of the crust for sure, probably about 25% more (multiply the amount of each ingredient in the crust by 1.25). For the filling, you could probably keep it the same to avoid messing with conversions, and the cheesecake would just be a shorter height. Some recipes use sour cream for texture or moisture, but this recipe doesn’t need it.
The consensus is that the Carbs shown on nutritional labels for yogurt containers are extremely misleading. The fermentation process brought on by the active cultures in yogurt, consume roughly half of the stated carbs. The nutritional labeling system REQUIRES food manufacturers to build the label based on the pre-cooking (or fermenting in this case) stage of the food.
OMG this is delicious! My mom used to make us sour cream and sugar sandwiches sometimes when we were little (yes, i know it sounds weird). And this yogurt is literally the exact same thing! But one quick question – how long will this last in the fridge? I was thinking of prepping all my yogurts for the week but didn’t want to get to Wednesday and be sadly disappointed!
How can you promise that when everything seems to need to be handmade? That is either a major time commitment, shopping, prepping, cooking, cleaning, or the most basic-bland thing ever. This would all be very good for me, but I don’t see how it is feasibly sustainable. Everyone seems to say things like ‘oh it only takes an hour’. All I can think is, wow you have an hour for this every meal? That and I live by myself and fresh food goes bad quickly, that gets really expensive really quickly or requires that you go to the store every other day. I really want to do this long term, but please, how is it realistically possible? I don’t want every meal to mean that I have to clean a pot, a pan, 2 knives, a stirring spoon, a cutting board, etc etc.
Yes, specifically these are geared to help me get in my daily fuel from fats without having to resort to something with more carbs or more protein than my body needs. My fiance said that these taste a lot like fancy yogurt to him but thicker, which he loves. It is like a really dense custardy mousse, which works for both of us. And he normally can't tolerate the sour cream in any form, but I guess pouring into the still warm dissolved gelatin nullifies whatever processing agent he's sensitive too. The fat count here is what makes this such an amazingly satisfying treat, and yogurt usually isn't kind to my stomach, but I imagine you could use the yogurt, as long as you are using full fat yogurt... Too much protein turns to sugar in the bloodstream, and that's something I am trying to avoid. I like the gelatin added for joint support.

Keep in mind that, although there are plenty of keto-friendly fruit options out there, consumption of fruit on the keto diet should still be limited. Even on a modified keto diet, it’s recommended to aim for around 30–50 grams of net carbs per day to maintain ketosis and maximize results. Even one or two servings of these low-carb fruits can knock out a good chunk of your daily carb allotment in one shot, effectively kicking you out ketosis.
The top three “fruits” on this list hardly exemplify the prototypical image of fruits in our minds, and it should come as no surprise. Fruits are typically banished from everyone’s keto diet shopping list, and for good reason. They simply pack too much sugar, and sugar is what we’re supposed to be avoiding at all costs, right? While this assertion may be true for most fruits, it turns out that there are a few delicious berries that provide very manageable carb content at a reasonable serving size. Two ounces of raspberries every day would certainly be enough for most people. You can always grab another 2oz for a total of 14 grams of net carbs. This will require some macro gymnastics if you’re hoping to enjoy balanced meals for the rest of the day, however.
Peak, a Portland, Oregon-based keto yogurt brand, has gone one step further, producing a vanilla yogurt with 16 percent fat and a plain variety with 17 percent. I was not able to find Peak in stores, but the company was gracious enough to ship me a case in dry ice. During the week it took to arrive, I found myself libidinous for the lipidinous good stuff. Would it really taste as good as my long-lost Liberté?

Hi Nanette, For this recipe I recommend a granulated sweetener in the crust and either powdered erythritol or powdered monk fruit in the filling. Pure stevia extract would be very concentrated and may change the end result. A stevia blend may work but the amount would vary depending on which one it is and what else is in it. You can check my sweetener conversion chart which can help if you look up the type you are using.
YOU GUYS! Launching my new favorite product this week: our keto nut butter 😍🤤 _ Before I went on carnivore, I probably crushed 14 jars of this velvety smooth creation. _ This lovely jar is packed with raw macadamia nuts, cashews, coconut butter and MCT oil to get you all the healthy fats your little heart desires. _ We also are using REAL ground vanilla and sea salt in this bad boy. Check out the bottom of that jar for proof. _ EDIT: we sold out on Amazon! Head to perfectketo.com/nut-butter for more. _ Can’t wait to hear what you think! 🌰🥜🌰🥜
Not only is this a low-carb recipe, but coconut yogurt is also vegan-friendly and can be so useful for a quick dish at breakfast time. Simply mix the two ingredients, cover the bowl and wait! It could not be easier! This yogurt can be mixed with fruit puree, topped with nuts if you can tolerate them, or flavored with vanilla. It can also be stirred into a spicy dish to reduce the heat.
We already mentioned that fruit is an important source of vitamin C. Well, fruit is also a great way of meeting your daily needs for potassium and folate – two nutrients that studies show most people are not eating enough [5]. You will also find these nutrients in certain vegetables, but fruit is a more reliable source of these nutrients as it is, more often than not, eaten fresh.

Before I let you enjoy this quick and simple (but not just “another-one-out-there”) recipe, I’d like to point out that using full-fat Greek yogurt is important. Xanthan gum, on the other hand, can be an optional ingredient, but I do recommend using it. That way you higher the chances for the fluffy pancakes to gain just the right amount of firmness.
When you have too much bad bacteria in your gut, you’ll usually suffer from uncomfortable digestive issues and other irritating symptoms such as bloating, constipation, candida overgrowth and bladder infections. To combat these unwanted side effects, rebalancing your gut bacteria levels is necessary so that you have a healthy mix of good and bad bacteria.

They also often have specific beneficial properties and are used traditionally both medicinally and in cooking. Cinnamon for example lowers blood sugar and suppresses appetite and protects against disease. Ginger is another potent herb which is an antioxidant and is anti-inflammatory. Capsaicin from hot peppers speeds up fat metabolism and reduces inflammation. Parsley is popular herb which removes heavy metals from the body and is packed with vitamins. Rosemary reduces inflammation in the brain treating headaches and boosting mental energy. Herbs and spices add color, flavor and novelty to keto meals. You can make the same dish taste totally different by adding a few fresh herbs.

Sorry about that, Shelly! No, not at all. I just have a process where I answer more involved questions in a separate batch from general thank you’s. It just makes it easier this way for me to get through so many comments that come in each day. I really do appreciate every one and answer them as soon as I can. I did answer your other question already. Thank you so much for visiting and commenting!
Nuts are dry fruits containing seeds. You can also think of them as plant ovaries or plant eggs. As nuts mature, they often create a hard shell. The edible part of a nut is called a kernel. The kernel nourishes the plant that starts to grow from the seed. However, many nuts are just called like that as they are botanically not "true nuts." But this doesn't really matter from a nutritional perspective.
While this particular recipe uses dairy, you can easily substitute one of the above alternatives to make your yogurt dairy-free. Simply follow the same fermentation process, combining the probiotic capsules and guar gum with your milk or heavy cream of choice. You could also choose to make your own almond milk (or other nut milk) by soaking almonds overnight and straining with a cheesecloth.
Hi Arielle, Yes, you can add more vanilla and lemon if you’d like. It should work fine as long as it’s not too much lemon juice. You could add some very finely grated lemon zest instead of more lemon juice to avoid changing the consistency. The fruit sauce with raspberries is also keto – berries can fit into keto diets in reasonable amounts. If you use a higher sugar fruit, it might not be, but with any berries it should be fine. I’m glad you liked the recipe!

Without too much vamping, I’ll just come clean and say that the Goods team loved the high-fat yogurts: The plain-flavored Peak tasted sumptuously round, with a sweet fattiness that made up for lack of sugar. The vanilla-flavored Peak was also delicious — a tangier, more chill cousin of panna cotta. By far, we agreed the Siggi’s Triple Cream was best. The 9 percent fat was luscious, but not so luscious that it wasn’t immediately recognizable as yogurt. We all thought the raspberry flavor would be great if it was, like, 3:30 pm and you were coming out of a doctor’s appointment and you wanted to eat something substantial that wouldn’t spoil your dinner.
With the help of keto-friendly ingredients, you can easily make yourself some delicious, fluffy pancakes. There are, in fact, several ways to make fantastic keto pancakes, but our favorite is the Faux “Buckwheat” Pancakes made with almond flour and flaxseed meal. Try them for yourself if you want low-carb pancakes that taste just like the real thing.
These were super yummy!!! I used Mexican Style Shredded Cheese by Kroger which has less than 1 gram of carbs and 100 calories per ounce. My daughter and I each had 1 taco. She loved it! We both loved how much more flavor there was than regular tacos shells. I’m thinking about using this as a crust for pizza, too! Cheese crust! Yum! Thank you for this recipe!!!
In order to save you time and money (from printing and shipping costs), instead of being mailed, The 3 Week Ketogenic Diet is provided to you as an instant download E-Book or e-books which you can read on your PC, Mac, iPad, iPhone, Android, Smartphone, Tablet or E-Reader. You can transfer it to as many devices as you like, and even print out pages.
Coconuts are one of the top keto foods because they contain loads of medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs), easily-digestible fats that your liver instantly turns into ketones and burns for energy. Not only that, these coconut chips are a great source of fiber, which will help keep things moving along when you’re not loading your plate with too many carb-laden fruits and veggies.
Note this: When it comes to keto-approved foods, you don't have to spend an arm and a leg. Yes, it's suggested your meats are either grass-fed or cage-free and your seafood wild-caught. For produce, organic is recommended. That said, you will not mess up your chances of achieving ketosis by purchasing farmed or non-organic foods. Do what best fits your budget and goals.
Low-carb yogurts make perfect dipping sauces for veggie chips or crudités for parties or for film night! The yogurt can be flavored or plain, depending on your taste but the one in this great Keto recipe is flavored with lemon and dill, complementing the crunchy, cheesy parmesan crust on the zucchini. You will find that because the sauce has dill in it, this would also go nicely with fish.
Yogurt contains calcium, vitamins B and D, and other minerals. Calcium isn’t just essential for healthy teeth and bones. Calcium is an essential nutrient your body needs. According to the USDA, you should consume around 1,100-1,200 milligrams each day[*]. Calcium also helps your blood clot, promotes muscle contraction and helps your heart pump blood[*].
We love cheese’s creamy and smooth texture, but when you need a little crunch, it’s Whisps to the rescue! The crispy snack is made with 100 percent real cheese and is baked until it boasts a cracker-like texture and crunch. When you’re avoiding saltines, grab these low-carb thins and use them as a base for other fat-filled toppings such as jerky bits or avocado.
We add collagen peptides to our coffee every morning because it’s beneficial for healthy joints, skin, hair, etc. If you use collagen peptides or want to add it to your diet after talking with your health care professional, we recommend Naked Nutrition Collagen Peptides Protein Powder. This product is grass-fed and pasture-raised, and is GMO free, dairy free, soy free, gluten free, and free of growth hormones.

To make this Tasty Cheese Shelled Keto Chicken Quesadillas, your preheat oven to 400 F. Then, cover a pizza pan with Parchment Paper (NOT wax paper). Mix the Cheeses together, then evenly spread them over the parchment paper (in a circle shape). Bake the cheese shell for 5 minutes. Pour off any extra oil as soon as it comes out of the oven. Then, place the chicken over half of the cheese shell.  Add the sliced peppers, diced tomato and the chopped green onion. Fold the Cheese shell in half over the chicken and veggies. Press it firmly, then return it to the oven for another 4- 5 minutes. Serve with sour cream, salsa and guacamole. Garnish with chopped fresh basil, parsley or cilantro.

I have been on a Keto diet for a little over 2 weeks now. I am still getting tingly sensations and minor headaches, though I believe that will dissipate once I'm fully adjusted in another 2-4 weeks. I started running again and am pushing it pretty hard, so I'm sure that's contributing. It feels like when I used to starve myself for wrestling and I get a sense that my blood sugar is low. I have added hemp hearts (about 6 tablespoons per day) to help combat because I read more magnesium can help.

When you soak chia, you'll notice the seeds develop a gel-like coating. This makes them perfect for pudding making. However, some complain that the crunch of the seed's shell combined with the gel coating make these puddings slimy. The trick is to add more fiber-rich foods to balance out the texture. Consider adding nuts or psyllium to chia puddings. You can also add chia to smoothies and sprinkle over yogurt.

There are plenty of keto fruit options out there that are high in fiber and low in net carbs, making them an ideal addition to a well-rounded ketogenic diet. In fact, adding a few low-carb fruits to your daily diet can help satisfy your sweet tooth while also supplying a steady stream of the vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that your body needs.

Thank you, Patricia! Typically dropping is due to sudden temperature changes, or from over mixing. Make sure the mixer is at low speed. After baking, let it gradually cool on the counter. If you really want it to be perfect looking, you can try a water bath to encourage even more gradual temperature changes, but for me that’s usually more hassle than it’s worth.
However, as easy as this may sound, the key to keeping your body in ketosis is to constantly pack your meals with fatty eats and stay as far away from carbs as you possibly can, which can get quite demanding—especially if you’re not prepared. To help you maintain this ethereal fat-burning state, we’ve rounded up 14 snacks you can grab on-the-go. These eats will keep you satiated with healthy fats and boast no more than five grams of net carbs.

Spices have carbs in them, so make sure you are adding them to your counts. Sea salt is preferred over table salt, as it is usually mixed with powdered dextrose. Most pre-made spice mixes will have sugars added to them, so make sure you read the nutrition label beforehand to make sure you know what’s inside. If you have the choice, never include added sugar into your spice blends or food.
In general, our team struggled to eat the high-fat yogurts without at least joking about calories. A single plain Peak has 270 calories. (The same amount of whole-fat plain Chobani has 143 calories.) Peak’s macros make sense if you’re on the keto diet, but most Americans are not. For American women especially, yogurt has long been marketed as a dieter’s food — the kind of thing you eat when you want to lose weight. Even in the gender-neutral, post-Chobani era, we still think of yogurt as a healthy-ish “treat.” Are we ready to accept yogurt as an actual treat? The answer to this question will probably decide the fate of high-fat yogurts in our market.

Like all fads, it eventually passed, but not before reintroducing fat to the American diet. The post-Atkins decade saw the rise of good fats, a nonscientific subclass of fats that includes the unsaturated fats in avocado, fish, and coconut oil. More recently, the keto diet has come to reclaim even saturated fats. Adherents strive to keep their bodies in ketosis by eating a specific balance of macronutrients, or macros, made up of mostly fats, some protein, and very few carbs. To hit these macro goals, some go as far as dumping pats of grass-fed butter into their coffee.

FULL DISCLOSURE - the original recipe does not have the added unflavored gelatin, but it set too soft for me. Also, it did not add the sweetener over the jello sweetening, but the sour cream "bite" was off-putting for me (I'm not a fan of it straight at all), so adding that little bit of sweetness took the edge off, and it is still far less sweet than my old sweets! And this works fabulously for those who can't afford other fats sources - or who just need an awesome satisfying snack with staying power that kills the sweet tooth, but without all the sugar!
Dehydrated fruit. When fruit is dehydrated, the moisture is removed. This process makes dehydrated fruit more nutrient dense than its fresh counterpart and ensures higher carb and sugar count by weight. Take apricots for example. In 100 grams of raw apricot, there are 9 grams of net carbohydrates. But in 100 grams of dehydrated apricot, the net carb count skyrockets to 82 grams of net carbs. Pretty significant difference, and you’ll see the same thing with plums vs. prunes, raisins, cran-raisins, and all the other dried variety of fruits.
Notice that things like Hot Dogs and Sausage are listed. There are also other meats that contain carbs. A big part of Keto is making sure you’re eating good quality foods with whole ingredients. Processed meats like these often have fillers and sugars. If you eat these occasionally, it’s not the end of the world. However, even if you’re hitting your macros, we recommend limiting processed foods like these meats.

You work out for a few months and get in shape and fall back to the old habits because you were not conditioned mentally, only physically. Physical fitness is only a part of journey, fitness is over 75% percent mental. Gyms, nutritionists, and personal trainers give most people a temporary Band-Aid but never address the actual issue. The 3-Week Ketogenic Diet includes secret mindset strategies to make your journey so much easier.
