Frozen yogurt has become really popular as a snack or a dessert, but most of the time it can be high in carbs, so let’s see if we can’t sort that! This wonderfully easy sugar-free recipe gives you a really impressive dish that would even impress at a dinner party. Using the chia seeds adds texture and bulk to the dish and also helps it go a bit further.
This looks awesome and I’m going to try it. I’ve been doing “keto” since before it was called that. I fell off the wagon several years ago but have recently come back to the fold as it’s the only way of eating that works for me. Anyway I wanted to mention that when my kids were growing up I made yogurt often. And then when I started low carbing I decided to try making it with heavy cream and it worked! And it’s amazing. Obviously more work than this but try it!

To make this Tasty Cheese Shelled Keto Chicken Quesadillas, your preheat oven to 400 F. Then, cover a pizza pan with Parchment Paper (NOT wax paper). Mix the Cheeses together, then evenly spread them over the parchment paper (in a circle shape). Bake the cheese shell for 5 minutes. Pour off any extra oil as soon as it comes out of the oven. Then, place the chicken over half of the cheese shell.  Add the sliced peppers, diced tomato and the chopped green onion. Fold the Cheese shell in half over the chicken and veggies. Press it firmly, then return it to the oven for another 4- 5 minutes. Serve with sour cream, salsa and guacamole. Garnish with chopped fresh basil, parsley or cilantro.

For both keto and Bulletproof diets, opt for full-fat, grass-fed, raw, and organic dairy to reap the anti-inflammatory benefits of omega-3s and CLA. Dairy is a great source of fat on a ketogenic diet, but be mindful not over-do the protein. Although milk (yep, even raw, full-fat, or goat milk) is too high in lactose sugars, you can stay in ketosis with foods like butter, ghee, and colostrum. Avoid sweetened or low-fat dairy, evaporated or condensed milk, and buttermilk to keep your fat intake high.
So that spoon you are using looks rather large, I’m not sure I have one that large, much less 6 of them. Yo do hang them individually, right? Also I’m not sure I’ll have the counter space or cups to do 6 separately… am I understanding this right? Are there other ideas for the hanging part? Have you tried any taco shell molds or the racks? Just curious if these would work also?
Many people love the ketogenic diet because it keeps them satiated for longer periods of time. As a result, snacking no longer becomes a necessity. However, snacking regularly is a habit that many people coming from a Standard American Diet have developed. Although you may not be truly hungry, you may still find yourself reaching for an afternoon snack to satisfy mental cravings. Instead of popcorn or chips, nuts are a great keto-friendly alternative.
I totally understand how you feel! 😊 But the truth is that most people can't do that... speaking from my own experience. When I started following a low-carb diet my palate was completely different to what it is now and I couldn't imagine skipping sweeteners, bread alternatives and other substitutes. They helped me transition into the way I eat now. These days I don't use any sweeteners - or just a small amount in occasional treats. I keep my diet very simple and often cook with just 5-10 ingredients.
Polyphenols are a special group of phytochemicals – plant components with antioxidant properties. There are thousands of polyphenol compounds in fruits and vegetables, and examples include flavonoids, coumarins, lignans, tannic acid. By including fruit into your keto diet, you can reap some of the many health benefits of polyphenols like a reduced risk of type II diabetes and cardiovascular disease [4].
Rich in gut-happy bacteria, yogurt is a great way to add a little sweetness to a Keto diet. Another thing worth noting is that there are three main types of carbohydrates: starches, sugars, and fiber. Of these three, sugars spike blood glucose levels the most, while fiber has no direct effect whatsoever. Fruit being particularly high in sugar is the most problematic plant food for keto. But if you plan your diet right, fruit can and should be part of your keto journey.

Lower-carb veggies, like cucumber, celery, asparagus, squash, and zucchini; cruciferous veggies, like cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, and Brussels sprouts; nightshades, like eggplant, tomatoes, and peppers; root vegetables, like onion, garlic, and radishes, and sea veggies, like nori and kombu. The guidelines are simple: focus on dark, leafy greens, then the stuff that grows above the ground, then root vegetables.

If you choose to make your sauces and gravies, you should consider investing in guar or xanthan gum. It’s a thickener that’s well known in modern cooking techniques and lends a hand to low carb by thickening otherwise watery sauces. Luckily there are many sauces to choose from that are high fat and low carb. If you’re in need of a sauce then consider making a beurre blanc, hollandaise or simply brown butter to top meats with.
