Thank you, Ariana! Are you referring to concentrated pure monk fruit powder, OR powdered monk fruit blend (which has monk fruit and erythritol in the ingredients)? If it’s concentrated powder, it can vary due to the concentration but would be a lot less. If it’s a blend, the amount would be similar but just a little less – just use scant measuring cups.
There are quite a few flours out there made from nuts and seeds that can be used to substitute wheat flour. Gravies, sauces, low carb baked goods… it’s absolutely insane how creative people have gotten with low carb flours. Breads, cookies, you name it. I would recommend sticking to whole foods and wait to venture into baked goods territory. Get comfortable with what you can and can’t eat, get into ketosis, and then start experimenting with ketofied versions of your favorite foods.
They also often have specific beneficial properties and are used traditionally both medicinally and in cooking. Cinnamon for example lowers blood sugar and suppresses appetite and protects against disease. Ginger is another potent herb which is an antioxidant and is anti-inflammatory. Capsaicin from hot peppers speeds up fat metabolism and reduces inflammation. Parsley is popular herb which removes heavy metals from the body and is packed with vitamins. Rosemary reduces inflammation in the brain treating headaches and boosting mental energy. Herbs and spices add color, flavor and novelty to keto meals. You can make the same dish taste totally different by adding a few fresh herbs.

This list has been one of VERY few that have the foods and the guided amount without having to pay an absurd amount of money for a list of food you can and cant eat. The top three “fruits” on this list hardly exemplify the prototypical image of fruits in our minds, and it should come as no surprise. Fruits are typically banished from everyone’s keto diet shopping list, and for good reason. They simply pack too much sugar, and sugar is what we’re supposed to be avoiding at all costs, right? While this assertion may be true for most fruits, it turns out that there are a few delicious berries that provide very manageable carb content at a reasonable serving size. Two ounces of raspberries every day would certainly be enough for most people. You can always grab another 2oz for a total of 14 grams of net carbs. This will require some macro gymnastics if you’re hoping to enjoy balanced meals for the rest of the day, however.
This is my own personal alternative, though I've recently fallen back in love with Greek yogurt again (normally the texture and waxy coating it leaves in my mouth are very off-putting...). Looking at this now, I could easily see adding an unflavored/flavored protein powder and/or collagen to make this have more of a protein content. You might even mix pureed cottage cheese with the sour cream. I'm not sure what that would do for texture... Possibilities are endless, really, once you master the initial recipe.
The meat replacement protein called Quorn is a sort of mushroom. It needs flavor adding and any factory-added crispy coating removing. It is a good vegetarian source of texture and protein. Low carb vegetables are crucial for your wellbeing on keto and boost your wellbeing. However, many people have had bad experiences with these powerful plants! Soggy sprouts in school canteens and being forced to vegetables have given them a bad reputation. You may need to experiment to find the textures, flavors and cooking methods YOU prefer. Make tasty sauces to serve with your low carb vegetables making them easier to eat. Low carb vegetables are crucial for nutritional wellbeing. You will benefit immensely from adding them to your keto diet.
When we constantly consume sugar, we release dopamine in our brain – creating an addiction and an increased tolerance. Over time you will have to eat larger and larger amounts of sugar to continue the dopamine secretion. Once our body is dependent on a chemical reaction in the brain, we can find that we’re craving things even when we’re not hungry.
Although there are plenty of low-carb fruits out there, not all types of fruit can fit into a ketogenic diet. In particular, dried fruits and fruit juices pack a concentrated amount of sugar and carbs into each serving and should be avoided altogether when cutting carbs to reach ketosis. Fruits canned in syrup may also be higher in sugar, which can quickly drive up calorie and carb consumption and hinder your progress.

Still iffy about certain fruits? Double check the carbohydrate counts in a nutrition database to make sure your fruit of choice is not too sugary. The carb counts can really creep up on you if you don’t track and measure. Be careful! Don’t let your sweet tooth take over your portion control or you will kick your cute little butt right out of ketosis.
I made this on Monday, let it sit in the fridge overnight and it was fabulous last night (Tuesday) and still fabulous tonight (Wednesday). My only minor issue was that the cream cheese didn’t seem to get smooth after blending and so after the cake sat and we ate it, you could taste the crumbles of cream cheese. When I started to bend the mixture (using hand mixer) I started off slow, then sped up the speed thinking that would help remove the clumps. But then I saw your note about not over-mixing because that would cause air pockets. I continued to blend but at a lower speed then just put it in the pan to bake..thinking maybe the clumps would sort themselves out while baking. What do you recommend for next time? Either way, it was fabulous! Thank you!!!
On the flip side, the keto diet takes most fruits off the table (no pun intended) since they are loaded with sugar and carbohydrates. But we understand that you might find yourself craving something sweet and juicy every once in awhile. Not to worry: there are still some low-carb fruits that you can occasionally treat yourself to (remember that avocado is technically a fruit!). Key word here is occasionally!
Haven’t heard of The ketogenic diet (often called keto)?  It’s a very low-carb, high-fat diet that shares similarities to paleo, Whole30, and Atkins. It involves drastically reducing carbohydrate intake, and replacing it with fat. When your body switches to burning fat for its primary fuel source, that’s when you hit ketosis. While on the Keto diet you’re supposed to get at least 70 percent of your calories from fat, 15 to 25 percent from protein, and 10 percent from carbohydrates. You’re supposed to avoid all grains, legumes, root vegetables, fruit, (except berries) and sugar.

This cheesecake tastes amazing! I made it for the first time yesterday, and the hardest part was waiting for it to cool. I did modify the recipe slightly; I only used 20 ounces (2 1/2 packs) of cream cheese just because I was mixing them one block at a time and it seemed to be plenty enough for the entire cheesecake at 2 1/2. I then used half of the batter to make the cheesecake in a pie plate and used the other half to make 24 mini crustless cheesecakes. I still used the same amount of sweetener for the filling because I like my cheesecake on the sweeter side. I loved the crust as well. I made a strawberry topping and it tasted very similar to a cheesecake biscuit with jelly. The next time I can get my hands on dairy-free cream cheese, I will make it with that. I will definitely be making this for my next family gathering. Thanks so much for the delicious recipe!
Just to comment on the erythritol comment about its carb content. Erythritol is a sugar alchohol. Any item that contains erythritol will show up with a carb count. However, it’s completely safe for keto (in moderation). It doesn’t affect your insulin levels and will not kick you out of ketosis. You don’t need to count these carbs in your daily carb limit, you’re good ☺

The first US “Dietary Guidelines for Americans,” released in 1980, recommended that all Americans eat fewer high-fat foods and substitute nonfat milk for whole milk. “By 1984,” writes La Berge, “the scientific consensus was that the low-fat diet was appropriate not only for high-risk patients, but also as a preventative measure for everyone except babies.”
Fruits with over 10g net carbs per 100g in weight. Depending on your carbohydrate tolerance and whether or not you are fat adapted, you may be stretching the boundaries of nutritional ketosis by eating fruit with higher carb content or more significant quantities of the low carb fruits listed. There will always be exceptions and outliers; be sure to reference the searchable low carb fruits list below to pinpoint carb counts if you are unsure.
Low carb vegetables and keto friendly fruits are packed with super-nutrition, but you can get an even bigger dose of health from some specialist plants known to boost your body. There are a few factors that can contribute to falling. Make sure you use a low speed when beating in the eggs, lemon juice, and vanilla, and for the eggs do them one at a time. I use Swerve powder and Pyure Blend. When you say you can use any sweetener you want, are the measurements 1:1 with your listed sweeteners. I’ve checked the Sweetener conversion chart you’ve provided and if you call for 1/4 cup of Erythritol, there is no conversion for Pyure, and a lot of your recipies call for 1/4 cup of Erythritol. I just want to make sure I do accurate measurements.
OMG this is delicious! My mom used to make us sour cream and sugar sandwiches sometimes when we were little (yes, i know it sounds weird). And this yogurt is literally the exact same thing! But one quick question – how long will this last in the fridge? I was thinking of prepping all my yogurts for the week but didn’t want to get to Wednesday and be sadly disappointed!

Why Greek yogurt? Well, if you are not on an absolutely zero-carb diet and don’t mind some dairy, either, you must admit that Greek yogurt is one of the most enjoyable snacks out there. I made this because we are on a strict low carb diet and it is extremely hard to find satisfying snacks or desserts. OMG this is some good cheesecake!!! I used xylitol and tweaked the recipe just a little, I added a little more vanilla, a pinch of salt to the filling and the crust, I also added a bit of lime juice instead of lemon. We felt guilty after eating it because it just does not taste like a “diet” cheesecake. My only complaint is that it did not set completely solid so it’s a little more soft and creamy than I prefer. I think I need to adjust the temp on my oven so I can cook it longer next time. This will be my go to cheesecake recipe from now on.

You can easily sweeten these vegetables even more by using keto-friendly cooking methods or use them in smoothies.
Maca is a kind of turnip from Peru. It is nicknamed “nature’s Viagra” for its libido boosting properties. Although it contains 60% NET carbs you only need a teaspoonful to give you a sweet tasting boost. A few grams of this superfood won’t take you out of ketosis. I used sugar free vanilla Torani syrup to sweeten it, a touch more heavy cream and then put a few tablespoons of warmed blueberries in and it was FANTASTIC. Great idea. Thank you!

Then, drain and place on a baking sheet in the oven at 150 degrees Fahrenheit for 12-24 hours. Toss halfway and roast until the nuts are crunchy, and not soggy.
