Case of the Its!
By Fitness Training ProgramsCase of the Its!
My alarm clock goes off at 5 am in the morning and although I live alone, I could swear there is something in the bed with me! As soon as I go to get out of bed, It pulls me back and asks,” Where are you going”? I look at It and tell it,” To exercise!” It then tells me, ” Let’s skip today and go back to sleep.” I then respond to It and I tell It, ” I can’t do that because I got something to get”. It says, ” what do you have to get…more sleep”? I just laugh and get out of bed and It follows me into the bathroom. The whole time I am getting ready It is talking to me about how stupid it is to wake up at 5 in the morning when everyone else is sleeping. I really don’t listen to It and get dressed and go into the kitchen to drink a glass of water. I go out in the garage and turn on the fan and hit the button to open the garage door. It really doesn’t like this!
I begin my workout and I’m not even a good two minutes into the warmup and It tells me, “I’m tired”. It tells me I am too tired to make it through the workout this morning. It says I should just go ahead and give up. I don’t listen, I press on! I start my cardio program and halfway through, It starts talking to me for the umpteenth time! It says’” we are halfway through lets quit now and go back inside and sit down for a minute” besides, “who’s gonna know you only did half your workout this morning?” I look It square in the eye and say,” I will”. I keep going and just as I am about to finish my workout and I am on the last set, It tells me not to give it my all and not to finish up strong. I glance at It and just to piss It off, I knock out the last set and put a quick smirk on my face.
I will never ever let It win because when I do:
It won’t let me fit my clothes anymore
It will increase my risk for Diabetes, Heart disease, and Hypertension
It will make me have less energy
I know I battle It everyday and win, what about you?
Look closely at the picture and you can see It. See you on the lean side…Dee
