Are you being duped?
By Fitness Training ProgramsI just happened to be strolling through the kitchen at my office the other day and came across a food label for a well known weight “system”. What do I mean by system? One of those well known systems they offer on TV where you buy the food already prepared so you can lose weight. Did you know you are being duped? Yes… you are being bamboozled!
I took a look at the ingredients in two products. Here is how the label read on the first product: sugar, high fructose corn syrup, salt, and bht. There was a very high amount of salt for such a small serving! In addition, butylated hydrozyttoluene or bht was being used as a preservative and it has been linked to cancer. The “kicker” was it also contained High Fructose Corn Syrup. HCFS has been the subject of much debate since it is found in just about everything from ketchup to sodas and bread. Your body metabolizes HCFS much differently then it would regular sugar thus altering metabolic hormones. It also makes the liver shoot more fat into the bloodstream. How can something like this help you lose weight?
In the second product, there was a combination of Disodium Inosinate and Disodium Guanylate. These two products are used as flavor enhancers but upon further inspection they are close cousins to MSG! Monosodium glutamate has been linked to cancer and other degenerative diseases. It wasn’t really MSG in this product but the two ingredients serve the same function as MSG therefore the food company doesn’t have to disclose it. Yes… see how you get duped! I know you are skeptical and probably won’t believe it but keep in mind corporations are in business to make money. They care little about your health… still don’t believe me? Smoking was considered a safe activity years ago and then the real side effects were discovered. Always research things for yourself and don’t believe what “ they” tell you. I always welcome your comments on the blog!

It is deplorable how food corporations dupe us into thinking “diet” foods are good for us or help us lose weight. The best defense against this is to become educated consumers. We shouldn’t always blindly believe what “they” tell us. After all, they are only out to make a buck. Great post!
