About
My name is Darren McDuffie and I launched this blog in May 2009.
The goal was to create a site which provided advice on nutrition, health, and fitness. It seemed like a simple goal but then I realized I was just one of many other blogs offering the same thing. In early 2010, I decided to refocus and concentrate on “truth based” fitness, health, and nutrition.
There seems to be an abundance of Lies and Ignorance in the fitness and health industry. It is the lies that keep people chasing their tails and looking for an answer in the latest supplement or the newest diet. There is an enormous amount of people who are tired of the Lies and are ready for the Truth.
I Am Not Here To Lie To You
I am not here to be everybody’s friend. My site is focused on providing the truth and not everyone likes that because it requires a change in thinking. Change is a hard thing for most people and rather than jumping into it and getting used to feeling uncomfortable most people prefer to stay where they are so they can continue to feel comfortable. I get that…we all grow at our own pace. If you prefer to be stagnant and want a site that tells you to eat 6 meals a day and drink protein shakes every hour on the hour, this site may not be for you.
This Site Is About Truth
People seem to be able to handle the truth but its often the lies that hurt them. And…there are tons of lies in the fitness and health industry. Because of these lies, many people are sick, obese, or suffering from disease. This site will deliver truth without all the hyped up mumbo jumbo and oversized ego served up on most fitness blogs.
Why Listen To Me?
Well, I am just a former collegiate athlete who’s seen it from all sides. After finishing my collegiate and semi-pro basketball career, I allowed myself to get terribly out of shape. I had my wake up call when my mother passed away of breast cancer in 2005. That event prompted me to seek the truth about the health and fitness industry. You would have thought I knew a lot about health since I worked for one of the top pharmaceutical companies as a drug representative but I knew nothing. I had to undergo a rebirth. I had to totally change my way of thinking. As a result of doing this, I was able to lose the weight and keep myself healthy. What I learned will astound you and I want to share it!
In our society, we relate fitness and health to flat tummies and ripped abs. On the other hand being unhealthy is seen as being flabby, having a “pooch”, or a beer belly. While these are unhealthy, someone who has ripped abs and a flat tummy can be just as unhealthy. Everyone should be afforded the gift of health without having to use illegal substances to attain a positive body image. I want to give you the gift of health and who knows you just may get that flat tummy or ripped midsection as a result of taking charge of your health.
I Love Comments
Always feel free to ask questions and leave comments. I have to approve all the comments and sometimes it may take me awhile but I will approve them. By commenting you create a dialogue which may prompt me to answer a question which someone out there may be afraid to ask or it may intrigue them to a point where they want to research a topic more. This is always good! Your comment may also give someone insight or just brighten their day, you never know.
Gratitude
It is a very lonely thing to just write articles and not get feedback. I really like hearing from you. I am grateful for you as a reader and hope you will put everything you learn on this blog into practice so you can really take control of your health.
Yours in Truth,
Darren “Health with a Heart” McDuffie
